alternatively don’t take the car
What is my title about? My new venture / Alternatively / of course! It started out as a varsity project but I plan to carry on with it long after it’s over. It’s a campaign mainly on social media to make people more aware of alternative transport in South Africa. It goes without saying that cars are necessary especially if you live in a city but you don’t HAVE to use your car all the time! graduation
I graduated for my diploma yesterday. It was awesome! …But I graduate in a year again for my degree so although it was fun playing dress up I still have assignments due this week. eek. so i’ve been advised my husband not to blog this week : (
This is me and my friend Candice, she’s finishing her degree in CT this year and was up in Joburg for SUCH a short time. : (

ps. so I will be taking a bit of a break this week but will be back next week tuesday! we have a lovely long weekend here in SA and we’re getting out of the city : )

damage control
Before I get any hate emails : ) *please don’t send me hate emails. The topshop arrival in South Africa might just be a hoax. I’m not definitely sure of anything but found this blog post on gashette saying the Topshop rumours aren’t true. I want to apologize if it is a hoax, I may have naively believed that an ‘official’ looking group made an ‘official’ looking announcement and jumped the gun a bit. I even sent an email to their maybe fake/maybe real email address. *tear 
The good news however is that ZARA is definitely coming : ) this is 100 % true.

This is Pasadena clothing label, Rodarte‘s collaboration with Opening Ceremony, a very cool alternative Manhattan store. I’m mad about the photography, the colours and the clothing – It looks like they shot through colourful cellophane!
BREAKFAST
Miss Moss (with Wolfeyebrows) have created the most delicious Tumblr. just about breakfast! I had a bowl of honey cheerios this morning which was… nice. 
but FLIP wish I could’ve whipped up one these.
There’s nothing like making a nice breakfast for yourself on a tray, finding a little warm light nook to sit in with tea and a book. bliss.
topshop
the TOPSHOP SA group on facebook announced yesterday that “the very first South African flagship store is set to open in Johannesburg Mid July 2011. A TopMan subdivision will be included in our Johannesburg store. Cape Town will be the next South African City that we are set to launch in, however the dates and TopMan vicinity are as of yet not confirmed”
How exciting! If you’ve been to a Topshop before (particulary the one on Oxford street) you’ll know that it is one of the greatest shops to set foot into – just floors and floors full of racks and racks of lovely things. I got so excited yesterday I made a few Polyvore dream autumn outfits out of topshop clothes just to give you a taste of the loveliness. x

[EDIT 9/3] ps. Just to clear up, nothing seems to be confirmed, this might just be rumour but i’m getting excited anyway. and still enjoyed making these polvore outfits ; ) if they come they come, if they don’t then we just have to go to london to shop then don’t we?
the undomestic goddess
So you’ve seen the wedding blogs, the honeymoon blogs, but what about afterwards? When you perhaps have to run a house and a kitchen for the first time. Get recipes that are healthy, delicious and affordable! What goes in the dishwasher and what doesn’t? How to dispose of things correctly. wowie. It’s quite a big change, but I think most of us had lovely mums who trained us well and showed us how to not get maggots – which I somehow managed to do the first week back from honeymoon (despite motherly training) : ( trust me, it was a wake up call. I wouldn’t wish maggots on my worst enemy. Its completely horrible and terrifying.
So if you’re recently married or moving out of the house read here and here for safety precautions.
The undomestic goddess will be a new little feature on my blog to document my journey from sweet matrimony to domesticated goddess. I have a loong way to go before i’m a regular Martha Stewart but here’s to getting domesticated!
