going north for the winter

Now that i’ve booked tickets I can officially tell you that I’m going to London for two weeks in the middle of June, I have the longest varsity break and a wonderful husband who’s sending me to get some sunshine and culture.

This is what i’m looking forward to:

Summer-ness

lazing in parks, museums & art galleries.

the possibility of seeing Mumford & Sons and Arcade Fire in Hyde Park

Summer Sales & buying more trousers from Zara!

M & S food. and ofcourse seeing my sister, her husb and this little button

KWV Dinner and wine in the sky

On Saturday night I went with Angie, Jo, Milli & Uno to a KWV dinner party! They took us 100 metres up in the freezing sky and gave us a lot to drink – we tried all their wines and champagnes and they were delicious. After a scary and chilly hour up there we went to the FTV at Silverstar which was nice and warm. There we ate a lot of sushi and platter food and learn’t how to make some cocktails – The spiced wine (featured below with the cinnamon stick) was my favorite – it was hot and delicious!

here’s one of their official pics and angie also has some nice ones on her blog!

more Zara people

A friend of mine ‘pinned’ this outfit above and I have to say i’m totally smitten with it. I want every single item of it!

the travelling journal

I’m so excited to tell you guys i’m going to be part of a pretty awesome project, headed up by Canadian blogger Kaitlyn. She’s sending a blank journal from blogger to blogger all around the states and canada, making a few stops to england, france, south africa (yay!), Australia and then back to Canada. We have a few pages to fill up with art, words, anything really : ) and then send it on. reminds me a bit of the travelling pants.. but I think much cooler. Can’t wait to meet new bloggers and see what everyone else comes up with

: )

ooh. Can’t wait to get it! I’ll probably only get in a few months.. but will definitely keep you posted.

weekend in pictures

On Saturday mornings Dyl & I have gotten into a nice habit of venturing out to find a new place to have breakfast. We finally got around to visiting Juta street in Braamfontein.

We went to Post for breakie. It’s such a lovely light filled spot with big open windows, the smell of good coffee and bacon cooking and the most jivey awesome tunes playing off a beautiful old record player.

Friday dreaming

It’s friday but it somehow feels like it shouldn’t be friday.

I finish my 3rd last term of 4th year in a week, and I have 6 week break ahead.. and there are things I should be doing like unpaid internships, or maybe getting a part time job… but all I can dream about doing is travelling. It’s summer in europe and cold here : ( . Over there there are museums, art galleries and beautiful parks to spend your days in, interesting food to try.. summer sales. : ) flip. All I want to do is get on plane. or train.
