Eating our way through Cape Town / part two

Hot dogs + burgers

Power and the Glory hot dogs (most unique and delicious hot dogs I’ve ever had) and Royale burgers and shakes.

// Royale has the coolest menu i’ve ever seen. it’s like a short story.

Some Cape Town Footage

So Angie, Jo and I went to a Kodak launch a couple of weeks ago for their new inkjet printer - it prints in 3D – how awesome? and the ink is really reasonable compared to some other brands, so if you’re in the market for a new printer, you should check this one out! Here are a few of our 3D pictures they took of us that night.

I love this picture of Jo playing the guitar with her hook, with yellow hat + boa! It cracks me up everytime.

here are some of angie’s pics, cause I was too busy slurping down delicious cocktails to take photos. woops.

They also gave us a camera on the way out! It’s a waterproof  HD sports camera and it’s about the size of a phone, so it’s so nice to take around everywhere.

So we charged it up and took it with us to Cape Town. So here is some Cape Town footage, powered by Kodak.

a brief summary of a few things we did in CT on the Loeries weekend

Ps. how awesome is this remix of two door cinema club?

fancy furniture

I’ve been drooling over this Anthropologie furniture all week. I’d love to have a statement couch one day.. one that when you walk into a room it’s like boom! bright yellow couch! But alas I think I’ll have to wait a bit longer ; )

Dylan and I are a bit furniture fussy. We have to both agree on something 100% and both like it A LOT before we buy it. So when we got married we bought one of those L-shaped couches, that fits pretty perfectly into our house, it’s beige so it’s quite nice and neutral and it works with the space well, but wowsers I’d love a bright couch one day.

I can fantasize all day but it’s probably a bit wiser to stick with the classic sofas, and then spice them up with cushions and throws in whichever colours are in that season unless you have a bi-yearly furniture budget and can update your furniture once or twice a year! Cushions are bit cheaper.

I’m absolutely smitten with the chair above! : ) They belong inside a house in a forest near a lake or something.

All of this beautiful furniture is from Anthropologie.

I especially like the iPad covers!

Eating our way through Cape Town / part one

We arrived in Cape Town at about 8:30 on thursday night, checked in to our hotel.. and our stomachs started rumbling, so I turned to twitter to all your lovely recommendations, one being Bombay Bicycle Club which comes HIGHLY recommended by anyone’s whose been there or anyone whose been to Madame Zingara (It’s created by the same bizarre and awesome people).

So we decided to check it out.. and I loved every minute in the place! Outside the restaurant is covered in hanging bicycles and the inside is like stepping into another world. Everything is cluttered. The walls and ceilings are just covered with frames, and tennis racquets, rugs and plants. There are tables everywhere with flickering candles and the most awesome doo-wop music ever!

We had some fruity cocktails and pretty much the MOST delicious food i’ve ever tasted. *sorry the pics are bit dark and moody. the Olympus struggles without a flash.

We ate the drunken camembert, the prawns wrapped in phyllo pastry, the seafood pasta and the chocolate chilli steak! My mouth is watering as I type just THINKING about that chocolate chilli steak.

Oh Bombay! My taste buds are screaming for you again!

We’re definitely going back in December! and gonna book this table with swings for chairs! how nice?

Cleo Droomers

His beautiful range hits Mr.Price stores today. go here to see where there’s stock. I think it’s quite a limited range so you must hurry ; )

I picked up these two dresses which I think are going to be lovely summer staples.

Both at R129.99.

hooray!

On friday, I doubled my highest daily views on EJN! It’s the highest hits i’ve had since August! Thank you readers and new readers, and thank you to Mr.P and Elle for letting me cover such an awesome event!

and Thank you to Dylan for being exactly like this guy above. I love you.

Picture from the Anthropologie Tumblr – worth taking a look!

Superette + city snaps

I would still love to own one of these yellow Doktor & Misses planters one day.

These are few pics of our last day in CT. A nice brekkie at Superette and a bit of street shop exploring in Woodstock.

Thanks for all your recommendations on twitter! Most were eating places and we pretty much did all of them! So the next post will be how we ate our way through Cape Town! x Phew! It took a lot but we did it!

Lam & constable*

Lam by Lameez Claasen

Love the high socks & waists in this collection.. oh and can I have this shirt-dress please?

Next up Constable* by Samantha Constable, whose clothes look like they come straight out of New York Fashion Week.

Heroine by Danielle Hartman

Heroine, Constable*, Haus of rehab & Lam were probably my favourite designers of the night. For me their clothes were the most wearable and would make great additions to my wardrobe. ; )

First up is Heroine by Danielle Hartman.

Was so lovely meeting Danielle in person, I also found out she reads my blog which was awesome! (you have to know I still get surprised that people recognise me and know my name)

this print is hand painted. *jaws drop open now!

Again one of everything for me please.
