Moving to the village

TUESDAY 12 JUNE, 2012  /   COMMENTS [5]

I'm so happy that I can finally officially tell you we're moving. Things have been in motion for over a month now but finally the i's are dotted,  the t's are crossed and the solds signs are up! Our flat in Craighall Park is sold and we've bought a lovely classic Parkhurst house! Wooden floors, pressed ceilings, fireplace, old old kitchen and bathrooms which we'll have to put some work into but i'm so excited! So thrilled to have a new blank canvas to do something with and boy have I been pinning like crazy, imagining every space in the house and how I can improve on it with paint, framed prints and rugs! I haven't got any nice pictures of the house to show you. At the time, we had a few offers that had fallen through, we even almost bought a penthouse in the Maboneng Precinct (we were seriously so close) and every time we found a new place for sale I got over excited which was followed by much disappointment. So this time I looked at the house, I liked it but didn't take any photos or invest myself emotionally in it and it turned out that this was the one.

Talking about homespiration, this Scandi home has been on my radar for quite some time now, and then it even popped up in the new Elle Decor magazine. I've stared at these pictures a million times! I think I want everything! I want to paint our wooden floors white, I want those turquoise chairs and the navy lights. The big over sized letters, and the kitchen! Oh the kitchen! Love the combination of the white and steel, and cute details with dog bowls. Enjoy the pictures (and if anyone knows a wooden floor specialist / someone who knows about this white finish in these pictures please let me know!)
