Parkhurst is a village, my village where I know the lady who makes the best cappuccino at Vovo telo and where one day i'm totally going to just ask for "my regular" and they'll know what it is, and not stare at me blankly. heehee. I hope it's a place where I become a local at places and learn peoples names. Joburg can be very cold at times and I think it's important to put down roots in a place, create a community, learn names, and support the locals around you.
Another little gem in the neighborhood is a shop called L'emile et son. I met some of these ladies at Decorex earlier this year where I stocked up on sky planters.
A lot of people have asked me where they're from and this is the place. They also sell so many other cool things that you just won't get anywhere else like a wooden cutting board in the shape of a pig, ipad covers and placemats you can draw on... the shelves are laden!

I'm definitely going to pop in again to do a bit of Christmas shopping.
