Workspaces

MONDAY 14 JANUARY, 2013  /   COMMENTS [3]

I have to admit something. I've been feeling pretty overwhelmed lately. I even had a drowning dream : ( You know the one where there's no break in the cycle of the waves, and you're under the surface but can't get up to breathe!

I wasn't consciously feeling like this everyday but after that dream I realized that I was. We're pretty busy over here at the Hello Harbour headquarters. Catching up with work from December, taking on new work and still trying to get ourselves properly set up at home. I know it will get easier and everything will run smoother  in time but it just feels like i'm not staying on top of things.

Something that did make me feel a hundred times better was waking up early this morning, making a big cup of tea and cleaning up my work space. I organized and wiped down my desk, mouse and keyboard. Cleaned up my inbox, replied to all my emails needing attention, and cleaned up my desktop.

Making sure you start a day like this will clear your head so you can get to doing all the other work you gotta do.

Do you guys have tips for keeping productive and motivated?

I'm also feeling a bit under-motivated at the moment. The only way I get myself into work-mode is list making and a pot of tea!

Firstly, I HAVE TO SAY THAT i've been a follower for a while, but am really liking your posts of late. I love this post in particular because this is something i feel we all struggle with from time to time. I love your idea, and am gonna try it out as soon as tomorrow! I've recently read also that 20 minutes of exercise first thing in the morning is a real game changer. Something i'm investigating... Hope it helps. xx

Also, I just discovered this today: http://teuxdeux.com/. I've been using it all day, and I have to say, it really helps and is super easy to use, and actually beautiful.
