Consol Christmas + giveaway

MONDAY 7 JANUARY, 2013  /   COMMENTS [19]

Just before Christmas Consol sent me a big box full of bottles and jars to use for something special for the holiday season.

Dylan and I were on dessert & drink duty on christmas eve (our family has always done the more fancy christmas dinner on christmas eve), so I decided to make a few festive treats using the Consol jars/bottles.

For a little holiday welcome drink I made CranCherry Cocktails.

I don't have a proper recipe, I just added some Skyy Cherry Vodka to regular cranberry juice mixed in with lots of crushed ice. They were delicious!

For dessert I made this chocolate mousse recipe, melktertjies, and this Ombre Jelly below.

It was admittedly a bit of a mission doing all the layering and trying to get the colours right but they turned out pretty cool in the end.

Lastly I made Pink Santa night-caps.

Also really simple - just strawberry milk and cookies, with a bottle wrapped in a little washi tape ; )

Now, there are two things you can win today and who doesn't love free stuff? : )

1. Consol is giving away 12 Mixology parties (think a nights supply of delicious cocktails) here, and all you gotta do is upload a picture of yourself drinking out of a glass bottle/jar (the competition ends at midnight tonight so best get sipping, snapping and uploading).

2. You can win a big box full of Consol products plus pretty straws & little umbrellas (like mine above) so you can make your own cocktails/treats in a glass.

To enter just leave me a comment below and tell me which one of my recipes you liked best and i'll pick a winner on friday.

This competition is now closed. The winner is Tash!

DECISION MADE: ........... The CranCherry Cocktails. The name itself sounds crisp and summery. Just looking at it made me want to stuff cranberries/cherries in my face. Definitely going to try it out, dress to the occasion (with friends) and viola! perfect summer evening ticked. X
