My vegetable garden!

EJN vegetable garden006

So you’ve seen most of my house and I thought it was about time I showed my ever changing veggie garden. We planted it earlier this year before winter – starting mostly with lettuce and a lot of herbs. After we came back from overseas we had more lettuce, herbs and cabbage than we could eat! So we wanted more… now we’ve planted mielies (which are just about ready!), big tomatoes, beans, peas, peppers, squash, carrots, cucumber and more! It’s all coming up quite nicely and I just loooove going harvesting at lunch time to see what I can throw into my salad.

It’s really easy to start growing your own food. You can even just start in a nice pot or crate. I’d start with butter lettuce, basil, rosemary, mint and any other herbs you like. You’ll save so much because you only pick what you need.

Check out my crops!

    looks fantastic emma jane!
Milos and I started a mini garden on the terrace, loads of endive and carrots (which we did not have too much success with) but I will wait to just before summer to start again! all our herbs have not loved the freeze, with winter here, although the lavender has done well. I need to start thinking about making lavender cocktails 🙂 your garden looks lovely!

Wow EJ! Looks incredible. Have so much space in my garden, but not so much on my watch (read 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon). Do you water the plants everyday?
