Blueberry Cafe

Blueberry Cafe18

We shot a wedding at a beautiful venue in the Midlands last year called Netherwood. On the same property is restuarant called Blueberry hill (now Cafe) which served up the best coffee we could find in the area and some mean blueberry pancakes (I hear their cheesecake is amazing too).

Well this cafe has recently been vamped up by the ladies behind Anatomy Design. They’ve transformed the space into a stylish cafe with beautiful details everywhere.

When you go inside you walk into a greenhouse sort of entrance hall full of light and and walls covered in micro greens. On the left you have the Blueberry Cafe with a long porch in the front overlooking the awesome view. On the right you have Die Winkel (The shop), which is filled with beautiful things for home and travel. Comfy couches, luxurious Wolf & Maiden luggage and other nice items for gifts or for yourself.

We went there twice while we were there for lunch and breakie and they were both delicious. I’d recommend the burger for lunch and the harvest table for breakfast. It’s such a generous breakfast – You get a trio of freshly squeezed juices in little lab glasses, a hot breakfast, muesli and yoghurt (with berry compote) and a board of baked goods for R65. It was a little bit too good to be true.

If you’re travelling in the KZN area anytime soon i’d definitely recommend a detour to visit Blueberry Hill. It’s in Nottingham road (opposite Fordoun).

It’s our favorite place to go in the Midlands and especially inviting on a cold winters rainy day with fires inside and misty green Natal hills outside.
