I (along with every other girl ever) have always wanted a KitchenAid Mixer. It’s one of those desirable items that every Pinterest dream kitchen has, and if you bake with it obviously everything will look and taste like heaven. So… i’ve decided to create a Kitchen Aid Fund (or piggy bank) where I actually start saving for one… better yet I thought it would awesome if I could sell a whole bunch of my stuff lying around in exchange for one.
As you might know (or not know!) we’re leaving Jozi, our long time lover for Cape Town at the end of the year. We’ve slowly started going through each room and store room and we’re desperately trying to trim down on unwanted junk. We’ve thrown a lot away, given a lot away, and recently we decided to list a bunch of things on Gumtree!
Dylan and I went into every room in the house and started making a list of all the things that we could possibly sell. All useful things, but not used by us!
Click here to see all my ads but below are a few things i’m trying to get rid of:
Kitchen items and appliances
An amazing motorbike helmet Dyl bought me in his motorbike phase. We searched high and low for this plain white one (and then shortly after he sold his bike).
A cat transporter (only used once – our sweet Mumford passed away last year)
A vintage backgammon board
We also listed chairs, a metronome and a set of pots and those sold within hours! We listed all these items yesterday and today we have cold hard moola in the KitchenAid fund.
It’s so flipping easy to do and now is the perfect time to start your Spring clean!
A word of advice. You have to be ruthless about getting rid of your stuff! Ask yourself: How many times have I used it in the last 2 years? Will I realistically use it again in the next 6 months? If not, sell it! One man’s trash is another man’s treasure!
You can start your own Kitchen Aid Fund like me, or perhaps a Zanzibar Trip Fund? ; )
It’s win win. Less clutter plus cash in the piggy bank!
I’m already looking around to see what else we can get rid of.
