I’m escaping to the sea!
Happy Easter weekend everybody! I’m going down to Coffee Bay tomorrow for a lovely week of friends, beach and sunshine!
I haven’t been to the hole in the wall since I was little kid so i’m so excited to go back.. how beautiful does it look?
I’m going to take a book , lie on the beach and do nothing. : )
Will try schedule some posts for next week but if not see you on the 16th : )
Bows & Collars at SAFW New Talent
On Sunday me and a friend cruised down to SA fashion week to see the new up and coming talent in SA fashion. Here are a few looks that grabbed my attention from the show.
Names to remember Katherine Mortner, Lameez Claasen, Kelly Esterhuyse and Samantha Constable! These girls just get it! Loved the prints and vintage feel of Katherine Mortner’s collection (first two pics). Lameez Claasen produced a line as sweet as she is in person, I went crazy over all the bright collars, and candy colours (pics 3 & 4). The bright pink suit is by Kelly Esterhuyse, who won the Elle New Talent competition last year, her S/S collection is sophisticated and very wearable. Lastly Sam Constable, I loved the bows and brogues and Lana Dey Ray ramp music! Well done on an amazing show!
We were lucky enough to go view all the garments at the buyers lounge at the Crowne Plaza yesterday. We had so much fun picking and choosing items for our wish list (going to get some catalogues and hopefully order a few items for Spring)
The weekly forage # 1
Dyl and I have been packing up a lot of our stuff recently, we have a lot of random things lying around the house and have just hired a storage unit nearby to put a lot of it in! We don’t have a garage you see, and we’re prepping and priming our place to to be sold. So we’re going for the minimalist look and trying to hide away all our things that take up too much space and aren’t used everyday. (There is a reason i’m telling you all this).
During this clearing out and packing away process i’ve found a lot of things i’ve collected over the years. Things that may not necessarily be useful ; ) but I would find very hard to part with. Call it my little treasury of miscellaneous objects.. and i’ve decided to share a few of those things with you.
First up an Eyelash Curler with the sweetest packaging and a bizarro teen shmodel picture of Brooke Shields!
I found this at my local pharmacy, clearly old stock but how old? I have no idea, I would guess it’s perhaps from the 70′s, but who knows? Some Koreans could’ve copied the awesome design and typography, found an old picture of Brooke and shipped them out here. Who knows?
ps. If you were wondering yes I did try it out on my lashes! and no I did not look like Brooke Shield afterwards : (
Win a Fujifilm Instax Film camera
It was my blog’s birthday month last month, but in between work and hello harbour I completely missed it! It’s been three awesome years so I thought it definitely deserved a proper celebration!
One thing I love the most about blogging is the fact that I get to take a lot of pictures and experiment with a lot of different cameras (thanks to my lovely bearded husband) so I though it fitting to give away a camera that would be fun in the hands of anyone, photographer or not. So i’m giving away a Fujifilm Instax film camera of your choice!
All you have to do is like my brand spanking new facebook page here, and leave me a comment below.
You can also tweet about it using the line ” @emmajanenation #Fujigiveaway ” for an extra entry.
Good luck! x
I will announce a winner on the 2 April 2012. COMPETITION NOW CLOSED.
