Natalie sent me these incredible images yesterday from her new Autumn collection, and I was so blown away and so excited to share them with you. She is an artist with material, pattern and print. I've never seen anything like it before. I love the attention to detail on all the garments. I especially love the first look, and the pom pom stockings!
I'm going to hand over to Natalie Creed to tell you a bit more about the inspiration for the collection.
"Kaiki, the Japanese translation of 'Sea Princess' epitomizes this collection. The ocean and the East are constant sources of inspiration for my designs, and I brought them together to create a playful and slightly fantastical collection. The colours of the ocean come through in the watery greens and blues contrasting with bright corals and yellows of marine life and soft pinks of beached shells. Silhouettes are young and doll like, with petal shaped accents on hems and sleeves. Uniquely designed prints of otherworldly flowers and undiscovered sea beings adorn soft cottons, while illustrated sea sisters are embroidered for textured detail. The feel of the Kaiki collection is quite dreamy and invokes a sense of playfulness and magic within the wearer."

Bambi Northwood Blyth is the face of the new Woolworths A/W range and totally personifies the range. She is pretty meets tough, and has the most incredible eyebrows i've ever seen. Here is a short interview with her.
I got spoilt with an outfit from the Winter range last week and have been browsing the other items i'd love to get my hands on for Winter. I'm really impressed that local shops are stepping it up!
I was in Woolworths yesterday looking for shoes for a wedding and I was blown away at the amount and variety of boots they have, and I heard they're running a promotion where WRewards cardholders get 10% off all boots from 25 March until 7 April 2013 (including Country Road and Trenery). Yes!
This post is sponsored by Woolworths.

I blogged about The Makers about a year ago, and it's so cool to see the progress of this project and to see how far it's come (there's even a book out). Here are a few of the latest makers.

The florist

I love this photo stream of healthy food on film, it makes eating sugar free and gluten free look good! I'm seriously thinking of re-attempting Whole 30, it seems easy enough. Has anyone tried it?

Watermelon juice, a seemingly obvious invention yet i've never made it before! I did have a glass of it at Burnsides a few weeks ago on a hot Sunday and it was wonderful and refreshing!

So impressed with this look book (just spotted on Miss Moss) for Supernatural, an incredible floral design studio in Cape Town. I've never seen such beautiful floral arrangements in South Africa, and i'm so happy people are stepping it up in that department. Being a wedding photographer I see a lot of very run of the mill floral arrangements, there are cool one's but they're very few and far between.
Styled by Kate Desmarais and photographed by Alix-Rose Cowie, the ladies at Supernatural created this incredibly rad look book to showcase their awesome and unique style.

My friend Lexi has just started a foodie blog called Whisking it where she regularly posts delicious recipes from an amazing looking chicken pie to biscotti. If you're looking for something to make for dinner tonight or a tea time treat for the weekend go and scour her posts, there are so many nice things to make and there a lot of Gluten free options too.

Just don't go look at her blog on an empty stomach. I just made that mistake and now i'm even hungrier!

One day I would love to have a simple summer cottage by the sea (maybe even in a Scandinavian town I can't pronounce like this one) where you can go and retreat for the summer months. Live simply, eat simply and spend quality time with loved ones. Nothing fancy, just cosy and light with a beautiful view and big windows to let a breeze in.

If you don't follow Bri over at Design Love Fest, then now is a really good time to start. I love her cool and bright LA style, her obsession with Gold and Turquoise, and her newly styled living room area. It really is a dreamy living space. My favourite part about it has to be the forest of plants. I would love way more plants in the house, my only problem is keeping them alive (and also finding beautiful pots to put them in).

I'm also pretty inspired to spruce up my bar cart a bit. I love the colour and the details on hers.

If you've seen any of my tweets and instagrams lately you'll see i'm doing a spring clean of life, in every facet that I can.
I think every now and then it's necessary to stop and assess how you're living life, how you're treating people and what kind of message you're sending out to the world. With this blog I feel like i've lost direction a bit (maybe a lot), and i've been trying to find it again this year.
I've cleaned up the look of my blog a bit (with the help from some great people), started the process of going through old posts and fixing up a few things where necessary. It's not perfect yet, nor will it ever be (but i'm cool with that).
As of last month i've been blogging for 4 years and it's been a wild ride, i've loved all the little benefits of having a blog, i've loved sipping champagne at launches and getting presents in the post box but i'm ready to draw the line in the sand when it comes to brands and PR (and i'm sorry it's taken me this long to do it). I love this little space of mine on the internet and I don't want to taint it.
This means i'm not going blog any old thing I come across on the internet, it may mean I blog less but my aim is to put out quality, original content in all the categories I love (as defined above). I'm still going to blog about fashion and cats and lovely trivial things ; ) but i'm going to care less about stats, less about being the first to review a new spot in Joburg, less about trying to make brands happy. I started this blog to be another creative outlet, a space to really inspire myself and the pressure to perform kind of kills creativity.
So i'm stripping back all the layers and in a way starting over.
(Enjoy the new look, and play around a bit, i'll explain the new view and buttons in another post)
