Byron. Proper hamburgers.

Since I arrived in London i’ve been spying out this awesome place, almost everyday on the bus. and finally went there today with my sis. It’s called Byron and their slogan is ‘proper hamburgers’. and it is just the most gorgeous place I think i’ve ever eaten in. I felt like I was in mad men and pretty much snapped away the entire time I was there, so this is a very narrowed down selection of pics (and it’s still photo heavy – sorry). : )

I went to the one on Putney High street but there are ten others around London. You. have. to. try. their. burgers! They are scrumptious!

There are only 3 in London, and they’re all tucked away in backroads (we went to the one near Oxford street). Thank you lauren for the recommendation : ) we loved it. It was so sweet and happy and charming and homey. and my pancakes were too good to be real. I try re-create this stack every time I have pancakes. mmm. if you’re in london its worth navigating the little streets to find one of these. such a nice find, walking along the streets and seeing this POP of yellow. <3 just go there k!

There you can get books and music you wouldn’t get in normal shops, cameras, jewellery and very interesting pretty clothes. The price tag isn’t so cool (because they say most clothes are “vintage” or made from vintage material) so i didnt buy anything. but i WAS lucky to find out that Petticoat Lane – a Sunday Market has a stall which sells overstock clothes from Urban Outfitters for a 1/4 of the price! So I found these dresses – in the shops 48 pounds. at the market 9 pounds! :) score!

city lights

On Tuesday night I met up with some friends and we took a late night walk down the Thames River so we could look at the city lights.. (The sun only goes down properly at 10 pm here). It was quite magical..

We walked through a forest of lights

I’m in a dream called London

Sorry for the total lack of posts but to be honest i’ve been totally overwhelmed by the awesomeness of London! There is soo much beauty and history, culture and creativity.. and style! I walk around with my eyes up and my mouth open.. i’ve taken so many photos I don’t even know where to begin! but i guess i’ll begin at thursday night and my first taste of Oxford street (which is the main shopping centre street to go shopping!).. Its late night shopping on thursday night which is a bonus but it was pretty packed with people! :)

This is the only pic I took! :) .. I wandered around only a small part of oxford street before settling down at starbucks.. The clothes there are totally unlike the ones back home.. shu-wee. no-sir-eee.. I have to say Zara and River Island are my favorites so far! :) followed by Topshop, H&M, Primark (because its ridiculously cheap but waaay too crazy full of shoppers), Urban Outfitters (which is amazing but unaffordable – i will do another post about this), American Apparel (also slightly over priced)… and miss selfridge.

I did a bit more shopping the next day.. exploring more of the Regent Street side of Oxford Street.. including Carnaby street and Picadilly circus – but i will post pics as soon as i organise myself.

On the same day I also went to St Pauls and the Tate Modern (which is a museum of modern art).. it was all so lovely.. but I have to say my highlight so far was Portobello rd in Notting Hill which I did today! It was soo dreamy and amazing I still feel short of breath and kind of butterfly stomach just thinking about it! That will have to be spaced out over  a lot of posts! phew! but for now..  a pic from today which might capture a tinsy bit of how i’m feeling!
