I did a review on my little camera a few weeks ago, but yesterday discovered this incredible stop motion they made for it! wow! This is in a whole new league of stop motion! Keen to try something like this one day though.
If you saw my page in the July issue of Fairlady you'll see Nonna was one of the things i'm smitten with at the moment. It's a beautiful shop packed with shelves full of beautiful and unusual things for your home and it's right in my nice neighborhood Craighall Park. I went on friday and took LOTS of photos. They've generously sponsored a R777 voucher (random but awesome right) for me to give away to you guys!
Excited? I am. To enter all you have to do is leave me a comment below telling me what you like/want in the photos above! : )
This competition is only open to SA residents. If you live outside of Joburg, I can either send you the voucher to spend when you come up here, or I can pick out something for you? what do you think?
I'll draw a winner on Monday the 1st August 2011. and again if you tweet about it you get an extra entry (It worked for Tori last time - twice the chances of winning! just remember to @emmajanenation me in your tweet so I can see it!)
On my last day in London I went with a friend to a concert in Hyde Park - The Vaccines, Beirut (who are both awesome bands by the way), Mumford & Sons and Arcade Fire. I felt so spoilt to see more than one good band in one day.. imagine what Glastonbury must be like? These are a few pictures from the day. [They had an 'arcade' set up with all sorts of games like pac man and a free photo booth - awesome right?]
it rained a bit
made some friends from Liverpool and saw some nice fashions
watched some nice bands Mumford below and Arcade Fire below them
If you want to see some more official looking pictures like below (this guy makes me blush a bit, especially when he sings) click here.
Since I arrived in London i've been spying out this awesome place, almost everyday on the bus. and finally went there today with my sis. It's called Byron and their slogan is 'proper hamburgers'. and it is just the most gorgeous place I think i've ever eaten in. I felt like I was in mad men and pretty much snapped away the entire time I was there, so this is a very narrowed down selection of pics (and it's still photo heavy - sorry). : )
I went to the one on Putney High street but there are ten others around London. You. have. to. try. their. burgers! They are scrumptious!
Hello friends, sorry for the lack of posts, been busy doing Londony things : ) shopping at the awesome summer sales and spending time with my family. Here is a really brief photo summary of some of the things i've been up to. I will hopefully get around to blogging in more detail! : )
Also bought you guys a little something from Topshop. So will be doing a little giveaway asap! so come back soon : )
This trip I have to say I got the 'weary traveller's legs' way too often.. too much time on your feet and no desire to walk further, no matter how close something is, which is a bit of a pity as the museums and art galleries are one of my favourite things about London. I did manage to do two favourites from last time though - The V&A museum and the Tate Modern, and one new one - the Museum of Brands, packaging and advertising.
I've learnt about all these products in history of design so it's so awesome to see them in real life. How's the first cell phone below .. and the first mac. hee.
At the Tate , they had a beautiful exhibition on called 'expressive gestures' or something like that - awesome artists featured!
We went to Brighton on Sunday and it was mother-flipping hot day so the whole of London decided to go too. It was super busy but a lovely little beach town. awesome victorian pier & fun fair. pebbly beach. fish and chips. seagulls. beach chairs. ice-cream. blue skies. blue sea. nice shops in "The Lanes".
This is a little series of pictures I did of my little niece while we were on Brighton beach.
On Saturday night I went with Angie, Jo, Milli & Uno to a KWV dinner party! They took us 100 metres up in the freezing sky and gave us a lot to drink - we tried all their wines and champagnes and they were delicious. After a scary and chilly hour up there we went to the FTV at Silverstar which was nice and warm. There we ate a lot of sushi and platter food and learn't how to make some cocktails - The spiced wine (featured below with the cinnamon stick) was my favorite - it was hot and delicious!
